torturing kids with fancy food

We’ve been lucky that our kids are good eaters and fall for the 10 bite rule, but I still enjoyed this article on Slate about the extent some parents will go to get their kids to eat veggies.

As one that eats with his eyes, the article you directed us to didn’t entice me to any experiments with dreaded vegetables.
The one thought I had was that your mother has in the past two years served up two vegetables I like in their normal form, as mashed vegetables. Mashed limas and mashed cauliflower. Both are surprisingly good served as if they were mashed potatoes…a dish few children refuse.
I wonder how mashed “tree”, peas, or carrots would taste?
